I believe every aspect of a board is of great
importance. The rocker system, board outlines, foam volume, fin
placements, rail concepts, and even the glassing quality play an
important role in the function of a board.
My objective as a shaper is to blend all
these concepts together to fit the different styles of surfing as
well as the different types of waves.

Throughout my shaping career, I've been
influenced by and fortunate enough to learn from great shapers such
as Chuck Andrus, Ben Aipa, Eric Arakawa, Bill Barnfield, Wade and
Kerry Tokoro, Jay Richardson, Greg Griffin, Glen Pang, Kim Purington,
Ron Ralsch, and others. Since the concept of shaping surfboards
is constantly being reinvented and advanced, I feel strongly that
it is important to remain open-minded and also to give and receive
input from other shapers.
